Monologues From the Hart – All submissions are due by noon on March 31, 2025.
Hart County Community Theatre is looking for YOUR stories, poems, or songs about YOUR experiences with domestic violence, child abuse, coming of age, etc. Our goal is to produce an original show, Monologues from the Hart, based on the pieces we receive. If your piece is selected, we will work with you to develop it into a stage-worthy monologue or musical number for the show! We may ask you to present the piece yourself during the show or we may opt to have an actor/singer to present it on your behalf. Performance is not a requirement for submission!
- Stories should be in English, 300-2500 words in length, and be submitted in docx. or PDF format along with the information requested in the form below. Please indicate whether or not you wish to perform your piece yourself or have a cast member perform it. Do NOT put your name on the story itself as judging will be blind. At the top of each page of your story, put the story’s title and page number.
- Poems should be in English and take no longer than five minutes to read aloud. They should be submitted in docx. or PDF format along with the information requested in the form below. Do NOT put your name on the poem itself as judging will be blind. At the top of each page of your poem, put the poem’s title and page number.
- Songs may be in any language and take no longer than five minutes to perform. For songs, please submit an audio recording in mp3 or WAV format along with the information requested in the form below.
- Song submissions must also include a written set of the lyrics in English (as well as a set of the lyrics in the language of composition if it is not English). Do NOT put your name on the lyric sheet(s) or state your name anywhere in the audio recording as judging will be blind. At the top of each page of the lyrics, put the song’s title and the page number. Put only the song’s title in the information section of the audio file.
