The Hart County Community Theatre in collaboration with grant writer, Kristin Joyner of T.O.R.C.H. of Hartwell, Inc., is pleased to announce the organizations have jointly been awarded a Georgia Council of the Arts, Vibrant Communities Grant for $5000. Torch and HCCT competed against 57 grants applications. This collaborative project will benefit HCCT,
T.O.R.C.H.’s Railroad Street Project, and the community of Hart. The grant will fund a mural on the back of the community theatre and access to the park.
“This grant is the perfect example of nonprofits working together for a common goal,” Torch spokesperson Kristin Joyner said.
Work is underway selecting a design. Upon historic preservation approval, the groups will begin the work. Both organizations want a mural that will be complementary to the park with a theatre theme.
